Electric Motorcycles Become Core Growth Driver with Strong Monthly Sales Surge

According to official data from the China Motorcycle Chamber of Commerce, the domestic electric vehicle market shows obvious structural differentiation in 2026. Traditional national-standard electric bicycles face accelerated elimination and market adjustment, with a significant year-on-year sales decline in the first quarter. In contrast, electric motorcycles maintain robust upward momentum. From January to April, the cumulative sales volume reached 1.1757 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.66%. Especially in April, monthly sales hit 383,700 units, surging 35.24% year-on-year, becoming the strongest growth segment in the industry. Leading brands including Yadea, Aima, Segway and NIU have successively launched new electric motorcycle models, focusing on differentiated positioning such as mechanical styling, long endurance and takeaway special-purpose vehicles. Industry analysts predict that electric motorcycles will continue to achieve volume growth in the second half of the year, evolving into the key competitive track for mainstream manufacturers.
