East African governments keep raising fuel taxes, doubling operating costs of fuel motorcycles. Leisure electric tricycles deliver a driving range of 80–120km per charge, ideal for market trips, short-distance sightseeing and village commutes. Manufacturers offer customized versions with solar charging panels to adapt to unstable local power grids. Chinese leisure EV brands secured over 200 intended orders at the show, covering Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
