Background: Leisure electric two-wheelers and low-speed tricycles in northern markets have long suffered from severe battery attenuation in cold weather, leading to sharp range loss in winter and low customer repurchase rates. Traditional lithium and lead-acid batteries lose much capacity below zero, and power depletion is common for vehicles parked outdoors. Solution: Sunra rolled out a leisure mobility solution equipped with sodium-ion batteries, retaining over 93% battery capacity at -20°C. The whole vehicle adopts lightweight design, around 50% lighter than lead-acid models of the same specification while maintaining climbing performance. The battery achieves 1,500 charge-discharge cycles and resists power depletion during long-time parking. It targets scenic area leisure transport and short-distance suburban family trips. Result: After the new model launch, orders from northern dealers rose by 42% month-on-month. It addresses winter usage bottlenecks for leisure low-speed vehicles and opens up a path for large-scale application of sodium-ion batteries in this category, offering a product upgrade reference for peer manufacturers.
