US brand SixThreeZero unveiled a modular multi-seat leisure electric tricycle in Brazil. The model can carry up to 7 passengers, equipped with a 7300Wh large-capacity battery, 1500W dual motors, hydraulic disc brakes and full lighting system. It targets scenic sightseeing and suburban family leisure travel. New products are emerging in South America’s leisure tricycle segment. The relatively high price indicates market segmentation and premium opportunities for sightseeing tricycles. Chinese manufacturers can develop customized leisure tricycles for South American markets.
Oman’s Directorate of Standardization and Metrology released EMC technical regulations for personal electric mobility. Leisure electric two-wheelers and tricycles need full-vehicle EMC testing, with special inspection on folding structure and electronic suspension components. Over 70% mobility vehicles sold in Oman are imported from China. Exporters need to submit component shielding test reports, which lengthen certification cycle and increase testing cost. Enterprises shall upgrade products in advance for Middle East market.
New regulations for light electric mobility vehicles took effect in Ireland. The minimum rider age for leisure e-scooters and low-speed electric two-wheelers rises from 16 to 18. Helmets and high-visibility reflective clothing are compulsory. Impound and storage fees are doubled, on-site fines for violations increase up to €100. Traffic authority of Hancheng carried out special rectification for non-standard low-speed leisure electric tricycles. From October, non-compliant leisure tricycles not listed in MIIT catalogue and without registration will be impounded and fined, and vehicles reaching scrap standard will be forcibly retired. The campaign accelerates the phase-out of old non-standard tricycles in county markets, driving demand for officially approved leisure two-wheelers and tricycles. Manufacturers must strictly follow MIIT product certification rules and stop production & sales of unapproved vehicles.
